Sustainability is one of the biggest goals of our time: Shaping a clean, secure and affordable energy future while avoiding efficiency losses. Besides the implementation of batteries, hydrogen and fuel cells are the new hope of this future and are aimed to be brought into series production. While more research is needed, lasers already play a key role in manufacturing the bipolar plates that are essential to fuel cells and electrolyzers.
