Gérard Mourou is a French physicist. His research focuses on laser physics and nonlinear optics. In 2018 Mourou received the Nobel prize for physics together with Arthur Ashkin and Donna Strickland. Ultrashort pulse lasers are based on the principles described by him and his research colleagues, and he believes they can do great things.
