IPG LaserCube: The Lid - 3,000 thin and flexible parts per day

This industrial machine shop found that using a laser cutter instead of a milling machine to produce small precision parts reduced the time per part. Once they discovered the benefits of having laser cutting in house, they began switching more jobs to the cutter, and doing combination processing on both milling machines and the laser. The result: Greater profitability or lower bid pricing enabled by reduced part processing time, and increased shop machining capacity from offloading appropriate jobs from end mills to more efficient tools where appropriate. Watch their story here, and see if laser cutting has a place in your shop.
