In-process Depth Meter IDM

The In-process Depth Meter IDM can be used to perform distance measurements directly in the interaction zone even when processing with high power lasers. The process emissions and the laser radiation itself have no influence on the measurement accuracy of the method. Thus, authoritative and critical seam quality parameters in laser beam welding, e.g. the welding depth, can be measured during the deep welding process with all common materials. Powertrain or laser welding of auto body panels are exemplary application examples.
