Monitoring of the laser welding process with the Laser Welding Monitor LWM

The Laser Welding Monitor LWM is a real-time quality control system for series production and provides a full range of quality and productivity-relevant information about the laser-welded seam. Changes of the laser power, focal position, seam position, welding penetration depth and shielding gas supply or volume flow are determined. Component deviations such as burr on the welding joint or defective clamping devices are also detected in addition to connection errors and deviating welding penetration depths. The finger print of the related welding process is detected via time-based reference values of the process radiation, metal vapour, temperature, back-reflected laser beam and the optionally measured welding penetration depth and is compared to the signals of the running production. Deviations are reported to the production equipment in real-time. Further information: https://www.precitec.de/en/products/joining-technology/process-monitoring/laser-welding-monitor/
